What Gathered Together is

Gathered Together is a Bible reading accountability app for groups of family and friends. It lets you track your daily Bible reading, see how your group is doing each week, and discuss scripture together. It is a personal, community-focused tool — not a social network, marketplace, or competitive platform.

Your account

You sign in using your Google or Apple account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Gathered Together. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.

What you can do

• Create a personal account and join or create groups
• Track your Bible reading progress each week
• Post comments and reactions in your group's weekly discussion
• Share verse notes with your group
• Adjust your notification settings, display name, and reading preferences

What you cannot do

• Use the app to harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Post content that is abusive, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or illegal
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or private data
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the app's code or content
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent a ban or restriction
• Use the app for any commercial purpose without our written consent

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Your content

When you post comments, reactions, or verse notes, you grant us a limited license to store and display that content to your group members within the app. You own your content. We don't use your posts for advertising or sell them to third parties.

You are responsible for the content you post. Do not post content you don't have the right to share. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.

Bible content

Bible passages are provided by YouVersion (plans API) and bolls.life (public domain translations). Bible text is not owned by us. Public domain translations (KJV, YLT, DBY, BBE) are free to use. YouVersion content is used under their developer program terms.

Donations

Gathered Together is free to use. We accept optional donations through Stripe and PayPal (external links). Donations are voluntary and non-refundable. No app features are locked behind payment. We are not a registered non-profit; donations are not tax-deductible unless stated otherwise at the time of the donation.

Availability and changes

We try to keep the app running reliably, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We will try to give advance notice for major changes.

We reserve the right to discontinue the app with 30 days' notice. In that event, we will provide a way for you to export your data.

Disclaimer of warranties

Gathered Together is provided "as is" without any warranty, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of security vulnerabilities. Use it at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which may be zero, since the app is free).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we'll notify you by in-app message or email. Continued use of the app after changes are effective constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
